Please check the About Got Root page.
If your definition of "hacker" comes from the venacular, to mean: one that breaks into computers or networks, then no. This is not a "hacker" website. If your definition of hacker is the traditional one, that is, one that comes up with clever solutions to problems then yes, this is a hacker website.

Its a "watch" icon. If you click on it, the system will put a "watch" on that page, thread, topic or whatever, and will notify you if it changes, if someone posts to that page, replies to it, etc. To remove a watch, you can click on that icon again, or just click on My Gotroot and remove the watch from your list of watches.
Look for a little icon that looks like an eye. Click on it, it should turn into an eye with a slash through it. Now you will be notified if that page, thread, article or blog changes, or anyone posts a reply or comment to it. Also, keep in mind that you must be logged in for this to work.
You shouldn't. If you find a part of the website that requires you to be logged in to access it, please let us know. Occassionally new pages are added with incorrect permissions, and we regret any inconvience this might cause you. With exception of admin pages, all the information on this website is open to the public.
To prevent abuse. Spammers have taken to vandalizing websites that allow unregistered users to post. To help keep the noise (and spam) out of this website, we ask that users register. You do not have to register to read the material on this website, but to edit any of the wiki pages we ask that you setup an account. Additionally, if you post to a forum anonymously, your post will be held until a moderator can look at to ensure that it is not spam.
A couple of things can cause this. This first is that the forums, to help prevent abuse, only allow you post a new topic or a reply every 2 minutes to a specific forum. If your post did not show up, try posting it again in 2 minutes. The second could be that you are not logged in. Anonymous users posts to forums are reviewed by a moderator before they are approved, again, the solution is to just create an account. The final reason could be that you have encountered a bug, so please contact us and let us know your username, the URL, forum, and topic that you are having problems posting to.
First off, thank you for taking the time to find out what you should do. We appreciate any feedback you can provide us about the website, including any bugs you might find. To contact us about a bug, please try the following:
1) post information about the bug in our forums. The specific thread is here.
2) If that isn't work, please contact us with information about the bug or e-mail us at root AT gotroot DOT com.
Thanks again for your help.
